Please allow us to classify our notes by their function. For example, a note might be a translation of a text, commentary on a text, illustration of a passage or on a topic, application of a passage, explanation of a passage, etc., etc.

If we could classify notes by their function, this could more easily enable us to organize various kinds of content in Notes and even have some of it surface in guides and other places.

What would this look like or how would we identify classifications? By using tags, or Icons or something else? I currently am trying a classification system using a highlighting palette where each highlight type indicates a class like commentary, word study, illustration, etc.
I would like to see additional icons added that would identify these classes. Is this what you are referring to?

Too soon old. Too late smart.

@bkoehler0591-86, not sure yet. We could use tags. But that would mean the feature isn't super discoverable. It may end up being a new thing alongside tags with a predefined set of options.

The concept of something like this would be fantastic. I currently have a notebook, and anchor the illustration with an icon for illustrations in the text. An illustration manager or something like this would be so helpful.

It's a great idea, if this sorting is a little more automated. Currently I use different folders for my notes. This way I can separate them, but the current system is not intuitive, it's very confusing.
