equip the GLOBAL church to grow
Faithlife exists "… to equip the Church to grow in the light of the Bible." Logos is very helpful in assisting growth into maturity and the fullness of Christ (Eph. 4.13)
IDEA:
- Design a Logos licensing arrangement for small, underserved denominations or church networks in nations and people groups around the global.
- Enable international workers (aka missionaries) to work with pastors, elders, and leaders to equip them with affordable, essential tools for deep study and discipleship.
- OUTCOME: a culture of studying, learning, and teaching based on God's word for His glory
BACKGROUND:
I serve in Bosnia-Herzegovina, a divided and troubled part of the world. The Protestant church is very small: 15 or so churches, less than 500 believers. The economy has suffered greatly for a generation and the churches tend to be financially poor. However, most of the local pastors speak or read English at some level and use technology (laptops, tablets, smartphones, etc). At the same time, many do not have, nor do they have a history of, using resources such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, commentaries and other tools ... not to mention the power of Logos.
BENEFITS:
- Licensing Logos for use across these churches would assist the church in growing deeper and, Lord willing, broader.
- Such licensing could be used in similar cultures across the Balkan region (Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, etc). and may help promote unity.
- The largest broadly Christian groups in these other countries include both Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches. Licensing may assist Logos in expanding its reach into these groups.
