The Ancient Literature Dataset is fantastic, but it would be great to have something similar for classical Western literature . . . for instance, Scripture allusions, quotations, and echoes in Shakespeare, Milton, etc.

This would help facilitate the study of "Reception History" (Wirkungsgeschichte) — a form of biblical criticism that is becoming more prominent in biblical criticism. It could also be helpful for users preparing sermons or lessons seeking to pull in illustrations from classical literature.0

This is a fantastic idea. Not just for the Passage Guide, for example, a section that shows places in the Western lit canon that have allusions to a particular passage, but also to be able to pull up a single book and see a list of all recognized allusions that occur in that book. As you know, Dickens, Melville, Dostoyevski, Tolstoy... the classical writers in FL's public domain collections as well as Great Books would fill out this guide and it would be an incredibly useful tool for a teacher or preacher...0

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
