Auto-Numbering in Sermon Builder

I'm coming from MS Word. When I am in Sermon Builder, I prefer to use auto-numbering for my points. If I enter a verse reference (which then inserts the whole verse), the auto-numbering feature goes back to #1 after a verse is entered or other info for that matter. I would love to see the auto-numbering error fixed.

I wonder if taking a few tips from how PowerPoint handles its Outline mode would help here. That mode allows you to work with the text of the slides independent of the graphic content and apply outlining levels to it. If there was a similar mode of editing in the Sermon Editor, the numbering system would work as requested above, I think.
