Setting to disable 'Edit' field on thumbnails

I use grid view so that I can follow the pastor when he jumps around and more often than I would like I end hitting the edit hot spot which takes me to edit mode on the slide instead of making the selected slide the current projected slide. Also, the smaller the thumbnail, the more likely it is to happen. Whenever I want to change to edit mode I always use the edit/preview buttons. I have never purposely used the hot spot in the thumbnail.
