Text format reverts back to previous word - bug

4. Formatting for text automatically reverts to the style (i.e. bold, underline, italics, background color, etc.) found in the previous word or paragraph even if the formatting was removed. This occurs if I take the following steps:
a. Format text (Bold, italic, color, etc.
b. Begin new word or sentence by pressing the space bar or enter key
c. Begin typing (at this point the text reverts to the formatting found in the previous word or paragraph
d. Change formatting
e. If I backspace and eliminate the new word completely, the formatting reverts back to the previous word. Leaving a space in between the preceding and eliminated word does not change this issue. Even a new paragraph will carry the previous formatting.
f. This software should be written to honor the single space between a formatted word and the following words or paragraph.
