Resource View: Waste of space using Split Screen

When I'm utilizing the split screen mode, which is wonderful, a lot of space is wasted to just White areas around the search bar. Would like to see is when we go into split screen mode all of those buttons is compressed into one line up there by the search bar so that the rest of the area can be utilized for viewing the text.
