Being upfront about page numbering and Logos eBooks

A few days ago, I emailed to Customer Service the following suggestion about product information for Logos eBooks. The prompt reply advised that my feedback had been forwarded to the correct department and that I should post it here also. In essence, it is a consumer request for essential information to be made available upfront to assist purchasing decisions. Acting on it requires no change to an eBook’s format.

A Logos eBook is my least favorite of the three formats available. A significant problem for me is that some eBooks have page numbering, and some don’t – but you don’t know until the purchase is made. The usefulness of an electronic book without page numbering is reduced considerably. It is very difficult to reference a specific place in the book and I’ve experienced this numerous times.

To assist with purchasing decisions and customer satisfaction, I request that the Product Details for an eBook be expanded to specify whether the resource has page numbering or not (that is, Page Numbering: Yes or No).

At present, important information is being withheld from consumers. Fixing this would ensure that consumers are informed more fully about a resource prior to purchase.

If no page numbers are available for a given book in the store, please make this more obvious so I can avoid purchasing those books.

I need to report on page numbers read for seminary classes as well as reference them in research papers. A document without page numbers isn't useful--especially if there is a physical version of the media that has them.
