Save Public Reading Doc as a Template for Customization

The public document section would be immensely more helpful if you could save some one's shared document as a template then edit it to fit your needs.
Specifically, I found a document for a great (but intricate) reading plan, but it was linked to a translation I do not have access to. This meant that I could not utilize the feature at all. If I could have saved it and edited it as a template to create my own version, it would have been easy. I'm sure others would use public docs more if they had the ability to do this.
