Create subgroups

My congregation is an ELCA Lutheran congregation that, at one service, follows a strong liturgical pattern. We use groups to group things by the broad pattern of Gathering, Word, Meal, and Sending.
But we would like the ability to create one layer of subgroups, so that within Word we can group the Gospel Acclamation, Bible Item, and Gospel Response as one group called "Gospel". That would help us stay more organized.
That's the request: The ability to create one level of subgroups.
