Duplicate Document Names

Right now documents of different types cannot share the same name. For example, I am writing a sermon on Philippians 3:20-21. I would like to name my clippings, passage list, and sermon documents all the same thing, and I can differentiate by "type." However, it is not possible, and they conflict with each other, adding the "(2)" afterward.
Can the functionality be adjusted to rename conflicts within the same document type, but not when the two documents are different types? Otherwise, I end up having to write the type into the doc name or else just have different names that are hard to remember and find.
