Assign Notebooks to Books from Library

Additional details: Sometimes books/resources are purchased for a specific study. It would be nice to be able to create and assign a notebook from within the notes tab in the resource so every highlight and note would automatically go to the assigned notebook instead of having to organize it as the resource is being read

Welcome to the Forums Lenora! I have to be honest and admit that I rarely have used the Logos Notes tool for my note taking, but I have used it at times. Maybe, someone who always uses the tools will have more insight - but I'm trying to understand what your looking for…

I have never organized my notes and in the Notes tools I can view by each book/resource under the Filter option. Is that not sufficient for your goal?

All notes made in the same resource (in this case a particular book) are combined under the same category, under that book name. So, while Logos app didn't technically open another Notebook, you can easily sort them via Filter on the left. You find "Book" section, find the book you are reading, and you will find all the notes there.

Other option is to Create a new Notebook, and "move/assign" all your Book specific notes into it. It will stay as your default notebook until you change to another one.

Here you can see that I've selected a text in Dominion and Dynasty, made a very short note, and under filter chose that specific book I will find all notes regarding the book.

If you open a notes panel, you can select a notebook. New notes will be opened in this notebook. Also any highlights or notes you create wil automatically go to this notebook.
