Please let us filter Smart Search results to show only books we own.

I like Smart Search a lot, but there are times I cannot easily find results in books I own to look further into, as there are so many hits on books I don't own.

This is already available. Just do a books search and you can even limit it to specific collections.

Why doesn't the smart search on your books fill this need? (Yes, there are some good reasons but …)

Yes, that does work. Being able to filter the All search allows me to benefit from seeing the All search with those non-owned resources plus the other resources and tools the search operates on, and then, if I want to, see only my owned resources in the same search panel. The search would not need to be rerun to do this.

Just seems like an easy thing to do.

Does smart "All" search search through notes as well? I'm assuming not.

All search used to be called "All" because it searched through all of the categories (not just books). Before smart search no one would recommend doing a books search in place of an all search, because they served different purposes. Things have gotten jumbled with the introduction of smart search. It seems these days many people think it's called an "All" search because it searches through all the books in the Logos catalog.

It still does - the results are shown on cards distributed throughout the book results - usually most are not on the first page.

Just seems like an easy thing to do.

I agree but I like to ask because I dislike the use of randomly placed cards in unordered book results in the All search. I like to probe in hopes of finding support for my complaints.

I meant from my perspective it seems like the definition of All is slowly changing from All categories to All books in the catalog, as if people don't seem to care much about the restriction of categories forced upon the user by a books search. I think my perspective has been influenced in this way because of how often I have heard people speak of doing a books search instead of all search, as if the only difference were that it would search books from just your library rather than the entire catalog.

I think I'm following, but I'm not entirely sure what solution you'd like to see. Would you have interest in elaborating?

Would you have interest in elaborating?

I prefer the old style separate sections for the non-books searches. If they insist on retaining the card concept, then put all the cards at the bottom of the first page of results rather than forcing one to go through multiple pages to find (or not find) the desired card or at the absolute minimum, give us a way to navigate to a specific card.

Ignore this comment. I am testing.

I agree with you, unless of course there is actual purpose behind the current order/location of the cards. If that is the case, however, it's not very apparent.
