Is this Hebrew dictionary (below) worth the price, or is HALOT, TDOT, NIDOTTE, BHS, BDB (all of which I already own) sufficient for OT studies? Definitely looks intriguing.

It is hard to say what would be sufficient for you. It's a great resource, but I would say that the resources you own would be sufficient for most people. You may want to give a closer look at the new Researcher Gold Library, as you will be able to pick it up in that package at about a 90% discount: https://www.logos.com/product/369235/2025-researcher-gold-library

Of course, purchasing the library only makes sense if it contains enough other resources that interest you.

Wowsie! That’s a TON of highly regarded exegetical & grammatical resources—many of which I’ve had my eye on for a long time (esp. ICC). Wasn’t aware of this package inasmuch as I still don’t have all of the secret handshakes & signals down for the new Logos overhaul🤪.

Will definitely look further into this. I guess I’m just wondering if DCH brings anything to the table that these other sources do not.

    Thank you again.

I'm currently not engaged in OT studies and haven't spent enough time in this resource to sufficiently answer your question.

At SBL last month, I met with Jeremy Clines, the son of the late David J. A. Clines, the original author/compiler of the DCH. Jeremy Clines is continuing to refine his father's work, incorporating new textual finds and the latest scholarship. It's a true labor of love for him. All that to say, the DCH will continue to be one of the most up-to-date Hebrew resources of its kind for many decades to come. It's undoubtedly an indispensable resource for anyone engaged in Hebrew studies.

OK, @Puddin’ this ("Wasn’t aware of this package inasmuch as I still don’t have all of the secret handshakes & signals down for the new Logos overhaul🤪.") made me laugh!

What Rick says makes a lot of sense. I've enjoyed the resource and use a ton when I'm doing serious study. When I'm just translating and looking for a gloss or something, I am not as reliant upon it. Also, for serious study, it's nice to know that the work is continuing. But that seems to imply (and this is just reasoned speculation on my part) that another edition must be in the future.

Not too soon, but one day. The new Shorter Dictionary of Classical Hebrew, which is an abridgment of the 9 volumes, will be ready soon and is available for pre-order.

Okay—Thank you everyone. Just what I needed.

Seems like a no-brainer—esp. right now at the reduced price.

I particularly like the on-going updates as we understand more about these Hebrew terms.
