Personal Bible Translation/Text creator for Translators

It would be nice to have something like Sermon Builder or Notes specifically for personal Bible translation. It could have options of doing one verse at a time or all at once, but by the end or as the translation is progressing, have it compile it into a complete translation. It would be nice if this was cloud-based so it could be used and edited on a tablet. It would also be nice if it could be exported into PDF or Word. I think a wide range of Logos and Verbum users would use this, from missionaries in the field translating the Bible into another language or academics and pastors translating the original languages into their preferred tongue. If it is done by verse or section of text, the input could have two boxes, one for translation and the other for translation notes. Then, it would be nice if it could create automatic footnotes/endnotes for translation notes per verse or section of text.

I understand we can create a personal book to go about this, but personal books at the moment are very limited, and it doesn't look like it will ever get improved. Like seriously, any forum post on personal books will tell you everyone wants it improved. We could also use notes, but that doesn't export easily.

You are aware, I assume, that Logos has a relationship with SIL and that SIL produces translation tools. I don't know if this would affect Logos' desire to compete with SIL … or how large a market is left after SIL.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Not aware of the relationship, Thank you. But, it would be nice to have it integrated in Logos as a tool/resource and accessible across devices, whereas what we have now, personal books does not.

As a pastor, I find it helpful to translate the Bible. It helps me in multiple ways, which I assume you understand the benefits. It would nice to be able to have my own translation in Logos that can spread across all the devices I use. It would also be nice to see the notes of things I’ve translated in the past.

I assume that this would not only benefit pastors, but others who want to translate for whatever reason.

Sure I can just use other software (as I am now), but it’s nice to have it as part of my studies in a way that is searchable and connected with my other resources. I don’t see this as competing, but as a tool for people to use in Logos. If they don’t want to, that is fine. This is just a suggestion that has the possibility of benefiting multiple people.
