Blocking locked books when doing a search
When running a search Logos makes the LOCKED books show up first, I absolutely DESPISE this feature, & the management personal who made this feature to UPSALE us to purchase more books.
This feature was clearly added with foresight,
Question, how do I block, remove, deactivate this feature? of unowned books showing up 1st (not last)
I DO NOT want to be subjected to searching books I do not own, I do not want to keep checking search results ONLY TO FIND IT IS A LOCKED BOOK!!!!!!!
At this present time, I have 12,000 books & Max subscription, I would like to use them, NOT search books I do not want or am not interested in owning…
Thank you

Guess I might rephrase the question, how to do an 'All' search WITHOUT searching the bookstore. (as default)
Not possible at this time, as far as I'm aware. (Correction: I think this can be done but it may only work when you use special search syntax (i.e., it won't work with smart search). I rarely use All search, so hopefully someone else will come along and elaborate.)
Yes a "Book" search will work, but then I lose all the other searching power, Factbook, media, etc.
Maybe not lost but more inconvenient - you'd have to do individual searches for Factbook and the other areas.

Welcome to the forums. A Books search will search only your library.

Hi, Thank you for this response, Yes a "Book" search will work, but then I lose all the other searching power, Factbook, media, etc.

If one does an 'All' search, notice how out of all this information that is retrieved, the 'Locked books' rise to the top of the search results, that is by design, it does not "just happen"
Now one has to weed out the results that Logos forces us to review hoping we will buy 'That" book, but after the 1st Dozen or so 'Locked books' One finds the results, one was searching for.
Time and time again I have to look really carefully for search results from Logos to make sure I am not wasting time by missing the litte lock in the lower right corner. If anything send the locked results to the bottom of the search results.

@Chaplain John Custer Guess I might rephrase the question, how to do an 'All' search WITHOUT searching the bookstore. (as default)
You cannot. ALL has no options and was originally intended for users who prefer to search for relatively simple words/phrases in books and/or have a small library. When Smart (AI) Search was introduced it became the default mode for subscribers whilst Precise Search would be invoked only if Advanced (Precise) syntax is used.
If one does an 'All' search, notice how out of all this information that is retrieved, the 'Locked books' rise to the top of the search results, that is by design, it does not "just happen"
The results are ranked wrt answering the query but locked books will tend to dominate because of the sheer size and variety in the bookstore. The way you phrase a query will impact the ranking because there is bias in interpreting the intended subject and understanding alternative terms for a word/phrase e.g. a rapture query with "great tribulation" will have a different interpretation to one with "tribulation". A Library book that is clearly Pretribulation will suffer in rank if it also discusses the other theories! This is a weakness that Faithlife are seeking to overcome.
Now one has to weed out the results that Logos forces us to review hoping we will buy 'That" book, but after the 1st Dozen or so 'Locked books' One finds the results, one was searching for.
I use the Synopsis to avoid "weeding" and may consider buying a locked book it uses. And consider rephrasing the query as suggested above!
