Is it possible to use preaching mode on the Logos App as a controller for Proclaim?

Yes, this is absolutely possible, I do it on a regular basis.

I'm not sure I understand why the log-in procedure needed to change and seems more time-consuming than previously. Regardless, when I have logged out of proclaim, why does the next person who opens the program have an option to "authorize" a return to my log-in?
