Search Syntax Bar
For the Search tool could we get a horizontal bar above the search box. It would be a legend showing all possible syntax, for the different types of searches. It would be buttons, with the characters and a short explanation. For example, the quotations syntax, the button would be: "" Explicit Something like that.
You could click a button and it would put in the syntax at the current caret position. Like the forum where you click the quote button then paste text in there. It would also be a reminder of all possible syntax. We could toggle this bar on/off from the header somewhere. We could have it enabled/disabled by default in the program settings.

You are aware that we already have links to search help, cookbook style help, templates etc. can you be more specific regarding what additional helps you want? Logos already as a partial set of search argument hints as you type - I'm not sure how much that can be expanded although in labels specifically additional information could be provided.

There are items in a search that are not well documented. It may be worth rethinking your idea in specific terms to fill current holes.
