Make Copy Great Again

In Logos.com bible software it has a "copy bible verse" feature and window but once I put in the bible verse it makes me click on the "copy" button. This is an unnecessary step! Is there a setting that would just automatically assume that the verse I type in is copied to the clipboard without me having to click on "copy"?

Gemini response:

Unfortunately, Logos doesn't offer a setting to automatically copy the verse to the clipboard as soon as you type it in the "Copy Bible Verse" window. The "Copy" button is a deliberate step in their design.

While there's no direct setting to achieve what you want, here are a couple of workarounds you could consider:

  1. Keyboard Shortcut: Even though you still have to interact with the button, you can speed things up. Once the verse is in the window, you can likely use the keyboard shortcut for the "Copy" button (often Ctrl+C or Cmd+C). This is faster than clicking. Experiment to find the exact shortcut.
  2. Feature Request: The best approach would be to suggest this as a feature request directly to Logos. They do consider user feedback when planning updates. Explain your reasoning (unnecessary click, workflow improvement) and how it would benefit users. You can usually find a "Feedback" or "Suggest a Feature" option on their website or within the software itself. The more users who request a feature, the more likely they are to implement it.
  3. Alternative Workflow (Slightly different): If your goal is to quickly paste verses into another document, consider selecting the verse directly in the Bible text and using the standard copy command (Ctrl+C or Cmd+C). This bypasses the "Copy Bible Verse" window entirely. This works well if you're already viewing the verse in the Bible text itself.

While none of these are perfect solutions to your specific request, they might offer some improvement to your current workflow. Submitting a feature request to Logos is the most direct way to potentially get the functionality you're looking for.
