Could we add a ruler that we can move around in the Atlas to measure distance?

    includes instructions for measuring distance in the atlas. It should meet your needs.

    To measure distance, press and hold 

    Cmd 

    (Mac) or 

    Ctrl 

    (Windows), click your starting location, and drag the mouse. A circle will appear over the map with a label displaying the radius of the circle.

    I always suggest asking how to do something in the forums before making a suggestion to add the function. It's not a big deal as you'll get an answer either way ; it is simply easier to close a question than a suggestion.
