Tooltip Hold Modifier

Can you give us an option, that tooltips only show when holding down a modifier key.
I would choose Alt. When holding Alt, wherever my mouse cursor hovers, the tooltips would show.
Otherwise no tooltips would ever pop up. They are so invasive, I can't focus on what I'm trying to do; everywhere my mouse goes I get pop ups annoying me more than they are helping.

Maybe even Ctrl for one type of tooltip, Alt for another. We could customize this in the program settings.

Look at me right click, trying to do something, then the scripture pop up covers what I'm trying to do.
This is undesired behavior. In order to control the behavior, a hold down modifier would be perfect. Or even a toggle. Push a hotkey and it toggles tooltips on/off.
