Hello everyone,
I would like to submit a suggestion for improving the linking of notes with topics in Logos.
Background: Recently, I had an email exchange with the Logos support team regarding ways to link my notes more effectively with specific topics. The support team kindly provided various methods for searching and linking my notes (a workaround). However, I find the current options insufficient for efficiently using my notes during sermon preparation.
Suggestion: It would be extremely helpful to have a feature that allows notes to be directly linked with topics in the Factbook or the Guides, similar to how sermons are handled. This would greatly facilitate research and preparation, as it would eliminate the need to manually search for notes each time.
Use Case: As a preacher, I often take notes during sermons or when I find an inspiring thought online (social media). I write down these ideas that are not necessarily connected to a certain scripture. My goal is to link these notes to specific keywords or topics, such as "generosity," so that they appear in relevant searches and guides when preparing future sermons. Currently, my notes do not show up in searches unless I manually look for them (document search), which is time-consuming and inefficient (and often I don't remember that I wrote down a great idea months ago…and I don't run the extra search…and miss something good☹️).
Benefits:
- Increased efficiency in sermon preparation
- Better organization and findability of notes
- Time savings by reducing manual search efforts
Thank you for considering my suggestion.
Best regards, Fabian J. Witmer
