I think It'd be helpful to be able to link a notebook with a specific book, instead of opening a book and then making sure you have the correct notebook selected.
It is too restrictive to my understanding, and what exactly is a "book" e.g. book of a bible? What would happen if you wanted to change your bible resource from ESV to NRSV after making a thousand notes?
One of the advantages of notes is that they allow you to cross-link to other resources. I often find that notes end up with anchors to multiple resources.

On the NLT version, Psalm 25: 10 reads: The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands. The word "to" needs to be added between the words: "faithfulness" and "all". i.e. The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness to all who keep his covenant and obey his demands.
I use layouts extensively. I have at times wanted to add a specific book or Bible to all my layouts at once. It would be convenient to not have to open, edit, and then save every layout induvidually to accomplish this.
