Duplicate Community Post

@Jason Stone (Logos), I was trying to create a post less than 10 minutes ago in the Books and Courses forum entitled BUG: BI210 Introducing Hebraic Thought: A Biblical Philosophy of Truth. When I selected the Post button initially, I received an Error 500. I selected the Post button again and received another Error 500. I then went to the forum and found I had 2 duplicate posts with that title. I was given no indication that either post was successful.

You have company like has happened to me. It's both frustrating and embarrassing. I reported this to customer service and received no follow up.

Its a new feature checking to see how many people repeat an action expecting different results … my maximum some time ago was 9. MVP's are trying to report them as spam quickly … there is no delete but spam has some of the same effect.

@MJ. Smith Customer service did guide on how to delete. Unfortunately it is a proctored function and not immediate and in my case it resulted in losing an interesting response from Denise. The results were "merged."

I do not blame users who are conditioned by those in IT (myself included) to "just try it again" when odd error messages with no additional instruction are displayed. The conditioning is not a Logos problem even if this error 500 is something they specifically need to address. My goal in posting and tagging Jason was to maybe provide additional information for troubleshooting since I happened to catch it as it happened.

How many actual people are getting annoyed on these forums by all these issues? This is pretty bad service from the supplier, wouldn't you agree? But that's not unusual these days, is it? And there are still no user posting stats, mark all read, take me to the newest unread post when clicking the link, less intrusive footers (so bad I had to turn them off altogether), white space issues, banging-head-on-wall emoji (😉) (which would be useful right about now lol), textbox issues in desktop mode, etc. Why are the forum suppliers so unresponsive to fixing forum problems? Are we just too small a fry for them or something?

Thank you for sharing, Chris. The duplicates seem cleaned up. This is a known platform issue, and a patch is scheduled for release as early as tomorrow.
