I would like a chat interface in the application, and not just the ability to ask a question and get answers. I want to be able to engineer prompts and follow-up prompts for a model that has access to data and metadata in the application and my library. I want to be able to ask about my library (e.g., "What books do I own that on X topic?"). I also want to state a goal that I aim to achieve, and have the application explain how to utilize its features to help me achieve that goal. I would also like to be able to tell it exactly how I want it to aggregate content from multiple resources in my library. Right now, I can do the latter by copying and pasting content into another AI tool such as NotebookLLM, but I would prefer to be able to do it in Logos. Eventually, I would like agentic AI to walk me through the process and let me intervene when it makes sense. However, I realize that it will take some time. Right now, I would settle for a simple chat interface where the Q&A format does not hinder me.
One inspiration to consider for what the interface could look like is Perplexity.ai, which is a search-centric AI tool.
I'm a software developer, so I would settle for consuming an API and creating this interface myself.
Blessings,
Nathan
