@Mattillo I have no doubt we will be updating the text. No immediate release date yet, though, as these were only recently announced by the publisher.
@Rick Mansfield (Logos) Do you know whether the plan would be to update the existing ESV resource, or to publish an entirely new resource for the 2025 update? Not sure how you guys usually do this.
I believe in the past they just updated the current edition and didn't make a new one. There is an ESV Translation Notes document out there that lists all of the changes as a note in your ESV. Not sure where it is floating now but I made a copy of it and added the new notes into it.
@Jared Matthews it's too soon to know exactly how it will be handled, but @Mattillo is probably correct.
Honestly, I'd like a new edition to be released. The text I primarily use is 2011, not because I hold some sentimentality or theological position for that version; it's just the main physical Bible I use. So, if my church ever gets a projection screen, I will be making manual edits on passage slides, or I'll start reading the text off my iPad instead of my physical Bible.
They won't update the High Definition versions? These appear to be still 2011? That's what I must use on my mobile until that gets better functionality otherwise to reflect the desktop.
If I'm not mistaken, the reason a new edition wasn't released and it was simply an updated resources was because that was the publisher's agreement with Crossway.
The real question is will that document actually be updated? I don't even remember who the original owner was/is. I'd be more than happy to help update or release a new one. Most of the changes appear to be footnote changes though.
Just curious, has anything else been announced on this by Logos? I actually have a paper copy now of the 2025 edition, but the ESV in my software in 2016.
Not to my knowledge but since it is the same resource it usually just rolls out without much fanfare. At least if my memory serves me correctly.
Reviewing the changes, most of them are minor, many of them to footnotes and punctuation. I would actually prefer they update the same resource given these minor changes.
When can we expect to receive the update? Hopefully relatively soon with so few changes.
Hopefully Crossway has updated the Classic Reference print edition. My 2011 is falling apart (since I was cheap and didn't buy real leather). I'm hoping to get a new Classic Reference bible in the 2025 text.
@Kiyah - take a look at the Quentel version from Evangelical Bible. Ultra-high quality and it has the ESV cross reference system in it. They full size is the 2025 text. I am not sure when the 2025 text will be in the Personal Size edition

Its importance is affirmed through endorsements from multiple denominations. Although accessible via the ESV website, ESV Bible app, and STEP Bible platform, the 2025 revision published by Crossway has yet to be introduced in Logos.
Recommendation: Expedite integration of the ESV 2025 text changes into Logos and update all related resources to provide users with access to the latest version.

Does Faithlife/Logos have any plans to update the text of the ESV in Logos? Crossway recently put out an updated 2025 text that fixes (in my opinion) some translation issues in Genesis 3 and 4, as well as in John 1:18. There are other changes as well that have been well-received. You can view that update here:

Good luck lol. We've been asking, and getting no answers on it. YouVersion, Blue Letter Bible, Tecarta (Life) Bible, E-Sword, and Literal Word have all updated to the 2025 text, but for some reason Logos has not. At least provide some kind of update on what the deal is.
Already a few premium print options available to buy. We can't get 68 minor changes done on digital for a year? The one thing that comes to mind is that the ESV has synced audio bible (which all the other translations should do by the way), so maybe that is the hold up :) but some communication would be welcome.
The Bible app has the 2025 version now too.

Hopefully, Logos isn't planning to profit from this update, though it wouldn't be surprising if they did.
I sincerely hope it comes as an alternate text and not a direct substitute to the present ESV; despite folks misgivings with the original translation, I think it is crucial that we preserve iterations of updates. Maybe it is because of my history having read books like Fahrenheit 451, or even seeing countries mandate revisions (such as the CCP), makes me want to ere on the side of extreme caution and not just write over previous iterations completely.
So it's 2026 and still no ESV 2025. Can we at least get some sort of progress update or why such a delay?

Looks like the release may be immanent. I don't know if that means this week or next week, but we should be close.

I'm not certain on these issues. I would assume so, but that's only an assumption. One of my colleagues may be able to answer this question better than me.

There are no updates planned for the HD OT/NT resources. (I believe they still currently use the 2011 ESV text.

The ESV has been updated to the 2025 Text Edition. It is available on desktop and web immediately and should be available on the mobile apps tomorrow.
Thanks for the update @Bradley Grainger (Logos)! I can confirm that after relaunching the Desktop app, the 2025 update was downloaded. For example, John 1:18 is now the 2025 version.
