I think they would be surprised by how many would use Logos for iPad if it had true parity. Logos is the only application I use that keeps me using a computer still. If Logos could bring parity, even if it had to have a lite App for phones or lesser tablets and a more full featured app that runs on Swift so it had parity between iPadOS and MacOS (which would make less code work even though there’d be some work to still do between the apps), that’d be the way to go. But even today, I don’t see why most tablets couldn’t run Logos well compared to computers. Many of the computers that run Logos are less powerful in performance than some of these tablets. The current iPadOS version doesn’t really even take full functionality of the mouse and keyboard. The mouse essentially functions like a touch tool instead of a mouse. It’d be nice if they could at least have it use a mouse properly for selecting text and the keyboard for copying text. Instead, you have to long press, move the parameters from the text, and then hope the copy button shows up so you can hit it. I just wish someone from Faithlife would respond to a thread like this and at least say “yes” or “no” instead of ignoring it all these years when it is one of the most upvoted ideas on their Feedback Forum.
This is quite crazy. With all the advancement in apps for iPads I can’t imagine them not having a version built directly for iPadOS. They need one, because like many of the comments above they only reason I go back to my desktop is because some things we just can’t do on the mobile app. Technology has come such a long way that they should be able to make this happen.
I concur!!!! I am a relatively new Logos user and only use an iPad. I have an extensive setup using OneNote and was hoping Logos could fulfill that functionality and bring all of my notes and studies into one app. One feature that is especially frustrating is the ability to build notebooks with the IOS version but no ability to move them or add them as subfolders. When I go to the web version using Chrome for iOS or Safari, there is not a Notebook option!
To all Logos Leadership, this would be a game changer for Bible Software. I think the usage of Bible software would explode if brought over to the iPad.
I would truly love this, I use my iPad almost exclusively. I hate having to go to my Mac air to create or update highlights, this should be available on the iPad.
I find that some features like the guides are a bit limited on mobile compared to desktop. We now have desktop chips in these new iPads. Would be nice to see an iPad specific (more powerful / desktop-like) version for iPad.
Please! Otherwise, I am left waiting for a touchscreen/detachable MacBook to take to church.
Only question is which of these companies will give me what I want first (my hopes are low 😪).
I agree Logos needs to wake up to the needs of its clientele, why wouldn’t a Pastor or layperson not want the ability to use their iPad to read from…. that is a huge plus! Reading from a iPad as one does a Kindle would be a good start…. if you need a start point.🙂 The Logos mobile app I now have on my iPad can’t even allow me to read my installed personal word documents. Please Logos let’s spend some of those development hours to make it easier for your faithful clients. Some of us are heavily invested in Logos. I like Logos and I recommend Logos to others but looking at this blog I’m disappointed to see very little feedback from Logos. Can we at least hear why iPad hasn’t had your attention.
I often use the Web App when on my tablet when I'd like a more robust experience beyond the companion mobile app. Have you tried https://app.logos.com.
My iPad is my primary device. My only issue with the mobile app is highlighting text when my Magic Keyboard is attached. I wish highlighting text worked in Logos desktop and web as opposed to clicking on “word” then dragging the blue text cursors.
I should use the web version more on iPad. It keeps getting better and better.
Me, too! I had no idea how limited the web app would be after updating to streaming. Transparency would have been nice!
updating to streaming
What do you mean by streaming in this context?
And, if its helpful, there's an indication of what features are available on which platform here
The iPad app needs printing capability. That’s a deficiency that you can’t get around by using the web app, because the web app also lacks printing! I notice the lack of printing capability frequently because I like to share things with my Dad, and due to his lack of tech skills, he needs everything to be printed out.
I have used the web app over the last couple of weeks. I would rather use the mobile app on iPad over web app.
Besides highlighting text when my Magic Keyboard is attached. I wish highlighting text worked in Logos desktop and web as opposed to clicking on “word” then dragging the blue text cursors.
I would also love to be able to open Logos Mobile in multiple windows on the iPad. I currently have use another Bible app so that I can have quick access to the text I am preaching from for the upcoming weekend. Would love to have a Logos window for just the Biblical text. A window of the notes app would also be a great use case as well.
I would like to see the iPad app improved. I do not think it should be the same as it is on the iPhone. Today’s iPads are powerful devices and I would like to see Logos for iPad come closer to the desktop app capabilities. Even small things like resizing the split screen is not possible on the iPad app. It is very frustrating.
With the advances in the latest iPadOS software and iPad hardware, the iPad is definitely no longer a larger iPhone and is in its own category.
One of the hinderances to me moving my main setup over to an iPad as Logos Mobile.
Logos Mobile is okay for phones but it would be nice to see a fully functional version of Logos for iPad.
That would be worth paying for.
Does Logos have any current plans they can share regarding making Logos for iPad a fully functional program like the desktop?
Is there a way of setting up a reading plan that is time oriented? I want to read a book 30minutes a day? For example
Whenever I look at a book listed as "Gathering Interest" and has a Pre-order price listed I do not see an option to add the book to my wish-list. I would like to suggest that such an option be given. There are books in this status that I would like to think about a bit before pre-ordering but fear that I may forget about…
Hello, I would like the Insight button in the iPhone app to be expanded to include the following functions: Study Bibles Bible commentaries Textual History (Max) similar to the desktop version in v40.
iPadOS needs all the features of the desktop version. Running the iOS logos on iPadOS is extremely limiting and new iPads can handle to the workload.
See: https://community.logos.com/discussion/comment/1385546#Comment_1385546 Whether I am studying a name, a pericope, or a lemma, I always have a series of questions that I ask in order to build a "lay of the land" for my study. In my mind, this is equivalent to filling in a graphic organizer, my preferred methods for…
