Simple as that, I think songs in the song library should have the option to be renamed.
Yes, I agree. Several Hymns have a different title in the book to what is listed in Proclaim but it's the same song.
Proclaim lets you change the 'display title' for songs per arrangement. Most songs are considered part of our 'canonical' library, so we don't let you change the metadata.
Allowing users to change the name of a song title in their own song library is something that should be added. It's really pretty silly that it's a capability that doesn't exist now.
At least in our use case, we do not use any of the songs included with Proclaim SongSelect or Hymnbase. We imported 100s of songs into our Song Library from another product when we transitioned to Proclaim. When we use a song for the first time, we don't pull the song from Hymnbase; instead we create a new song in our Song Library and type in the words for it. For the songs we imported, we would like to rename the song titles in our Song Library so we can better take advantage of the ability to have multiple arrangements per song. Instead, we have to create a new song with the title we want, copy and paste the words from the old song(s) to arrangements for the new song, the delete the old song(s). For the songs we manually add, if we fat-finger the title, we can't just edit the title. We have to delete the song with fat-fingered title and create a brand new song with the correct title. It would be so much simpler and cleaner to just rename the song title in our Song Library. It is definitely frustrating not having that capability. And I think it should be relatively easy to let users rename songs in their Song Library without impacting the metadata of the "canonical" library. I mean, the Song Library is tied to the account, correct? So us making edits to songs won't impact what another user sees in their Song Library will it? And when a user edits a song in their Song Library, even a song added from Hymnbase, the changes don't flow back to the copy in Hymnbase does it?
Thank you Alan!
You much better stated what the real problem I was encountering was. Specifically with user created songs in the song library!
What I have been doing is manually adding the songs without using any of the SongSelect or Hymbase selections. I can usually get lyrics from Hymnary, The Cyber Hymnal or somewhere to copy and paste (and then edit to match our hymnals). Then I click "View All" next to Song Details in the list, add any additional information I might want to there, and finally, if applicable, put the CCLI number in the song arrangement.
All that being said, I wholeheartedly agree with the above—there should be an easy way to just change the song title without the underlying metadata being impacted.
(Also see my related post for specifying the key for songs.)
Thanks for the feedback here and the additional context! We will take a look at what we can do

It would be great to add the ability to set the output resolution and frame rate for the NDI virtual screen output. 4:3 and 16:9 are ok, but it you could set the output to something like 720, or 1080 and set the framerate to say 30 or 60fps this would give you more options for customizing the stream quality. It also…
Please add an option that allows for the end user to avoid being prompted with the message, "The current slide has been modified. Show updated slide." This prompt was added recently this year (ie. 2025). Unfortunately, for our use case, it reduces that time when a scripture displays during the middle of the service. In our…
Proclaim already does an excellent job allowing slide backgrounds and lighting cues to change when transitioning from one song to another. However, there is currently no way to trigger those same changes within a song. I would like to request the ability to change slide backgrounds and send MIDI lighting cues mid‑song,…
We recently lost our "song title" slide when we bring up a song. The title comes up on the top left corner of the first lyric slide. Please bring back the title slide! It happened on the recent update.
Hi Proclaim Team, I had an idea that I think would be a very easy update. We always proofread all slides before worship. I thought it would be helpful to have a checkbox to verify that item has been proofed. This would be especially helpful for items like praise songs and hymns that you reuse. Thanks for all you do!
