Our Associate Pastor/worship leader recently purchased a Chavet DJ Obey 40 lighting controller to replace an old three-channel unit we have had for years. I have been trying to integrate this device into our existing technology infrastructure. So far, I have been unable to get the controller to respond to MIDI signals from Proclaim. Proclaim knows that the device exists and allows me to create scenes, but there is no response from the controller when we advance to a slide that includes a lighting signal. I have the signal set to the USB MIDI interface (using a USB to MIDI cable), "note on", and velocity 0. I have tried using different channel settings on the Obey 40 and in Proclaim, different values for velocity (which the Obey 40 doesn't seem to use) and having the signal fire or not fire on each slide. Has anyone been successful at using MIDI with Proclaim and this controller? I fear we may be stuck since this is an inexpensive controller and seems somewhat difficult to use, but thought it worth asking.
