This may belong in the Suggestions en français forum, since it is about a french product/feature, but I am better at conversing in English than French, especially with technical words, so I am posting this here as primarily English speaker who is plus ou moins competent en français.
I would like the AELF Bible (resource ID: LLS:TDTDLBDLLELF ) to have all of the functionality of the English bibles I have in my library, but unfortunately, it does not. I am not sure what gives my English and Greek bibles more functionality—if it is the interlinears that correspond with them, or if it is because the text of the resource itself comes with coding as a bible resource (independent of interlinear productions). Specifically, I have in mind the following functions, all of which seem to be missing from the AELF bible:
- hovering over words in the bible produces pop-up information, including biblical referents/speaker information, more detailed information in the Information Panel, and Greek or Hebrew source words for the translated word.
- highlighting within a scripture verse allows one to perform searches/guides on that section of text without the text automatically defaulting to the whole verse. For example, I could select the text "Heureux les pauvres de cœur" (Mt 5:3a) and perform searches/guides/bible word study/etc on this text in an English bible, but in the AELF it will instead select the whole verse and not give me the granular detailed information I am looking for in a section of text less than a whole verse.
- right-clicking on a word in an English bible gives me detailed information on that word. In this French bible, it ignores the word and selects the whole verse. (I think this is related to bullet point right above).
Could someone help me understand why these bibles are coded differently (or less coded) and what is missing from my AELF bible that makes it so much less functional in the software? Thank you.
