Denise, as the official forum Targums aficionado, you know anything about this book? Sounds like a great primer, at least regarding Messianism.
New to me. Bought it. Lots of cross-language discussion and footnotes. Thank you!
I will say I've spent days and days (and days) on that subject (targums/messianic). I preferred Neofiti but the dating was never satisfying. The big problem is trying to date-position the texts.
Same problem with the Talmud.
Ok … book report (limited). Great book, along the lines of details, limited speculation, and new rabbit-trails. It is slow-going, since the author is careful with his wording (ie read carefully).
I wish also, Samson Levey's The Messiah: An Aramaic Interpretation were available, which operates as the starting point: https://www.amazon.com/Messiah-Aramaic-Interpretation-Messianic-Exegesis/dp/0878204024/ref%3Dsr_1_1?crid=2DJPZJELNFE3X&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.17OAwUzI_IoGZLLm6rdd_g.OAcGP1Ed_N41XBDu9OXUTdDK9We5pt8tpQp-QkgyaEA&dib_tag=se&keywords=Messiah+aramaic+expression
Definitely need CAL and Aramaic Bible at hand. Kindle not too fun. Also (especially) the rabbinics.

I would love to see this book in Logos! From the book info at Westminster Seminary Press: In Pulpit Apologetics, Dr. William Robert Edwards draws on the theological vision of Cornelius Van Til to show how apologetics flows naturally from Christ-centered proclamation. Rather than seeing apologetics as a bolt-on argument or…
This is a collection of essays written by Theodore Letis, the Director of the Institute of Renaissance and Reformation Studies, over a period between 1987-1997 and published in journals both popular and academic, while he was a doctoral candidate at the University of Edinburgh. Some are popular, most are rather technical…
