Excuse the first line of my posting above!   It must have been a hidden tag from MS Word that I used to type and then cut/paste into this forum - strange additional line, sorry!

Hi everyone, I'm pretty new to Logos, and I don't come on the forums often - at least not yet. Perhaps it's partly because the Macbook I use is from a different era and runs Tiger. I'm waiting to get a new MacBook Pro which runs Lion in July, so I can finally enjoy the Logos base package I purchased a couple of months ago. I'm 22 years old, an undergraduate (majoring in History) at the National University of Singapore, and am Singaporean too. My most-used Logos resource would have to be the books I ordered. At the moment, I use Logos mainly for access to the bible, quick check on commentaries and resources when I'm up and about doing ministry work (I'm a volunteer with Singapore Youth For Christ) and occasional reading, in particularly my Francis Schaeffer collection. Hope to use more of the actual Logos software once I get my new computer. My favourite non-Logos pastime, if you can call it one, is meeting and interacting with my students as part of what I do in campus ministry (high school students about 17-18 years old) under YFC. Random fact - Once I was blind, now I can see. Certainly the case for many of the users here I think - being born into a family of Christians, the reality and strength of Christian convictions never quite hit me seriously until a spiritual awakening which began about two years ago, and has continued unabated!

I want to write a fictional book centered around the story of Nehemiah.

Then, I would highly recommend that you acquire the EEC volume on Ezra/Nehemiah, if you do not already have it.

    Very interesting topic. [Y]

Random fact that gives others a glimpse into who your are:

I was a computer science major in college until I started writing code and realized that I REALLY didn't like it. I liked USING computers and tinkering under the hood, but not the actual process of coding. I decided to change my major, but couldn't figure out what I wanted to change it to. Someone asked me, "What would you do if you could do anything you wanted to?" and I said "I'd probably be an English and Religious Studies major… but I don't know what I'd do with that, because I KNOW I don't want to go to seminary."

About 2.5 years later I had graduated with a dual BA in English/Religious studies, on my way to seminary, have been ordained since 1998, and am currently working on my D.Min. and can't imagine doing anything else.

Once I was blind and believed that, but now I see that Diet Dr Pepper tastes most like regular Dr Pepper. [8-|]

Besides, Pepsi began in North Carolina, and nothing could be more patriotic than that. [;)]

Welcome Oliver. Funny you should say that.

I grew up drinking Coca-Cola. One day, out of the clear blue sky, some marketing genius at Coke decided to take the #1 selling soft drink in the world and change the formula. When the "new Coke" was not so well received the arrogance of the genius prevented him from admitting his mistake. We were offered his "new Coke" and the old "classic" formula. The half-hearted  admission of error came too late. I had sampled the competition and developed a taste for Pepsi.
