Upgrades

I tried t do a search and find this. I am sure it has been addressed by someone.  On the Logos page it knows what I have (Silver) and makes a suggestion of what upgrade I should do and also gives me a few other options.

I read references in this Forum to a "minimum upgrade."  But I can not find it on the Logos web page.

I have also read about a free up grade.

What are the pros and cons of each?  I am assuming there is more stuff and/or functionality at each level - But what would that be.

Also, are there any of the upgrades that include the New International Commentary?  I had saved up the almost 1,000 dollars to buy the pre-published sale price to have the pre-published price jump to over 1,300 (my dollar amount may be off), and now it is almost 1,600.  Now I am looking at an upgrade cost too.

Thanks for any information you can give me.

Bob Pritchett said: While the engine will work with your existing books, we strongly encourage you to consider a base package, which will include lots of content especially designed to work well with Logos 4. The people, places, and things databases, the controlled vocabulary, infographics, maps, etc. are all content resources sold as part of the base package.

You can also consider the "Minimal Crossgrade", which includes just the content resources that make Logos 4 shine.

I would reccoment a package upgrade if you can afford it, as the value for money is incedible..

Is this what you are after? If it is the Portflio option has this in it.

Short and long answer: No... all the commentaries are listed in the comparison chart.  None of the pachages includes NIC, WBC, ICC or Hermeneia (to name the big series).

The free upgrade is an upgrade of purely the engine - it will also ultimately provide you with Logos4 versions of the resources you already own.

The minimum upgrade provides you with a few basic resources to get the most out of the version. (http://www.logos.com/minimalcrossgrade) It costs $70

I would recommend a crossgrade (though I don't know what your cost is like for that). I'm sure the list of "new" resources is attractive

I am thinking that I will try the free one first to see what it looks like.  I am fine with my Logos as it is.  The most intresting to me is the ability to use on a iTouch, but I am waiting for the improvements so I can download some of the resources to teh iTouch.

It would be nice to be able to customize the upgrade to include things you really want (for me the New International Commentary and a good Bible Dictionary or Encyclopedia.  Maybe at their original Pre-Publish price.   I do not know.  The package deals often have things I do not want.

    Thanks
