Bradley:  That wordsearch still kills the program -- I tried it again then deleted the wordsearch file.  Obviously it needs some work.

I was able to reproduce the problem and have filed a bug.

Thanks, Bradley ... my Cited By was crashing my L4. I renamed my Documents folder, let L4 re-download, and now back in business!

I hope George has gets his notes back as well.

To be honest, I don't actually know.

The other possibility is to use shadow copies; I can't remember if these are automatically enabled on Windows 7 or not.

To do this, open "C:\Users\George\AppData\Local\Logos4" in Windows Explorer. Right click the "Documents" folder and choose "Restore previous versions". Find a version in the list before this whole thing started (e.g., the latest backup before 12:34pm PDT on Saturday, July 9). Double-click that folder to open it. (If there is no "Restore previous versions" command, or the list of previous versions is older, you can't use this restore technique.)

It should show a new folder window that contains a folder named "z0mrebmc.qya".

In your real Documents folder, rename z0mrebmc.qya to z0mrebmc.qya.old. Then copy the z0mrebmc.qya folder from the open "Previous versions" Explorer window to the real Documents folder.

Restart Logos 4, and you should be running with your documents as of the time it was crashing and you first posted for help. Find the Word Find document on the File menu and delete it.

(Similar steps apply if you using backup software that can restore older versions of this folder.)

That won't work on this machine since I re-downloaded the program.  Perhaps I can get the files from my daughter's laptop (my old machine).  If not, I suppose I'm going to need to import the L3 notes and begin reworking them.  Thanks for letting me know since I've been hoping for an answer -- now I know what I need to do.

Did you actually check  Properties | Previous Versions or try renaming the Documents folder?

Yes, I checked.  The only one showing was modified today.

Have you been able to recover your Notes?

No.  I have one more possibility before I resort to importing my L3 notes which are 2 yrs old.
