Kindle Fire: $199 hummmmm

Sounds very very interesting. No 3g is a major it to Logos functionality, however. But then again I usually study around WiFi anyway. I read when out and about so it may not be a major loss. I'm wondering how their new browser will work with biblia.com.

Wasn't there something said on these forums about the Fire having a limited Android capability? Is this similar to what a rooted Nook can do or does Amazon limit it in order to somehow keep business on their site and format?

This is the tablet I have been waiting for! I love the weight and screen size. I want to read books on it, not play angry birds and watch Netflex! No iPad for me! Sure hope the Logos Android App will work on it. Any idea about this Logos?

I sure hope so. I'm gonna have a hard time not jumping into the Tablet market now. Certainly going to wait to see what Logos comes up with next Tuesday. Fortunately I have till Nov to see what additional functionality iOS 5 will give to my Ipod Touch.

Me too! iPad is too expensive, and so are the Androids too. Hopefully they manage to get Logos working in Kindle - Please?!

Boy I sure hope so. If Logos will run on Kindle Fire, I will absolutely w/o hesitation buy one. I have been waiting for a relatively inexpensive tablet t preach from. As a tent-making pastor and advanced IT engineer, I love techy toys, but don't spend money just to spend money. The Kindle Fire will be perfect to read books when I travel and is the perfect size to preach from *IF* Logos is on it. Else, the Kindle Bible books aren't good enough. Need to be able to bookmark and quickly search text for preaching. Nice thing about it is, it is much lighter than a bible, you can change font size in Logos for better viewing, and less bulky than having a laptop on the pulpit. I hope the Amazon people are reading this. There will be hundreds of professors, pastors, and lay-people who will buy Kindle Fire if Logos will run on it natively via Android. I am very excited about the possibilities here.

I, too, have been looking into tablets and have not yet bought one. I've been waiting for better screen resolution, or upgraded software to make the fonts crisper, for some time. My Kindle 3 has spoiled me.

But I agree that the Kindle Fire is intriguing, most especially because of its price. Still, will a 7" tablet be large enough to preach from? I don't know. It seems as though a 10" would be better, and rumor has it that Amazon is planning to come out with a 10" tablet (the "Bonfire"? [:D]) in early 2012. I've got a pre-order for the Fire, but I'm awaiting reviews and more thinking to see whether I keep it or douse it.

My main reason for a tablet is Logos, so if Amazon doesn't play nice with the app, it will probably be either an iPad 3 or Asus Transformer 2 for me.
