Logos 4.5 - Notes Freezes Program
When I try to access my notes the program freezer and I have to force quit. I've had problems with my notes even before 4.5. Can anyone help?

Curious how long for wait before force quit ?
Logos4.log file shows Note open request at 22:46:18, last line shows Rebuilding document index at 22:46:29 (11 seconds later).

I am having the exact same issues with my notes. I had the problem before 4.5 and I still have it after 4.5. My Logos 4.5 build is freezing up after being open for 5 minutes. I have called Logos many times but still no real fix.

I had the problems before 4.5 as well. Really my Logos program has not worked right since Lion, and the notes have never been up to par with the windows version. Very frustrating. I originally waited a few days, then i let it run for a few hours. Not sure if I'm in my notes yet, but a couple hours to load?

For notes, Logos 4.5 has many feature parity improvements, noticeably lacking automatic creation of hyperlinks in notes.

Couple hours to load does not sound right; would like to look at diagnostic log files. Have experienced more than a couple hours for indexing. Am aware of some Logos users with lots of notes that have encountered long time syncing.
Wonder about enabling diagnostic logging, then launch Logos 4 Mac, repeat freeze (after opening Notes, please wait one minute before force quit), compressing log files, followed by reply with zip file upload ?
Option: download and use an applescipt application 5504.Logos4MacLogging.app.zip to display your logging setting, then change to enable logging.
Wiki has => http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging#Mac with terminal commands, which are used in the applescript application.
Wiki Mac Troubleshooting => How to Report Bugs in Logos 4 Mac has the log posting steps, including link to Logos Log Scribe application to create a zip file on your desktop (copies console messages, then compresses contents of your Logging folder for posting).

So now it's been up for over 24 hours. The note file has opened, but it is still hanging up and won't respond.

Apologies; understand and appreciate frustration.
Curious if anything else is open ? Likewise wondering how many notes are in file ?
Wonder about force quit Logos 4 Mac, compress diagnostic logs using => Logos Log Scribe application, then attach zip file to forum reply.
Also wonder about launching Logos 4 Mac to a blank layout, then open Notes file. Curious if Notes file is usable within 10 minutes ? If not responding, wonder about using Activity Monitor to sample Logos Bible Software 4 process, then save file, compress and upload.
To launch Logos 4 Mac to a blank layout, click dock icon, then quickly press and hold command key until login dialog appears, release command key, check "Use blank layout", click "Sign In", then use File menu to open Notes file.

I think there are some other programs open: Safari, Excel, Mail, things like that. I'm not sure how many notes are in the file. I've been having problems with my Notes file for awhile now. At one point, the software generated a number of duplicates of each note, sometimes upwards of ten copies. I think their are still issues that need to be cleaned up, but if the file did open prior to the recent update, if I tried to delete a note the same freezing problem would happen. I won't be able to get the logs up until tonight. I have done a blank layout with the same problem. Is the idea here that it is always going to take 10 minutes to open a note file? That is going to be a bear to work around.

The idea is an upper limit to wait for Note response (vis 24 hours). Ideally, notes should be much more responsive: within a few seconds. Personally have a note file with a dozen notes that opens instantly. Curious if a new note file is instantly responsive ?
Also wondering what is open in Logos 4.5 on Mac ?
Using Logos 4.5a Beta 1 yesterday, encountered a buggy issue with reading plans: opening one pegs CPU to 100 % along with scrolling list being unusable.

I run it on two machines, a laptop and a desktop. My laptop is 3 1/2 years old, 2.2. GHz intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM. My desktop is like a year and a half old, but I don't have the exact stats on it with me. It wasn't the top 27 in model, but the one below it at the time I purchased it. If I had anything open it was a a bible, the NIV I think. The note file is probably bigger, my goal has been to rework it into smaller note files. It was an old logos 3 file imported in. In Logos 3 I was running one main note file.

I have tried the remove duplicate notes command and that got rid of some of them, though again it locked up the program for a few hours. I was originally using one note file in Logos 3 that was imported into 4.

I tried to use the log program, but they won't attach to the post...not sure what's going on there. My desktop is a iMac 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Due, 4 GB 1067 MHz RAM. I don't think i mentioned my laptop is a Macbook Pro.

Now, after the force quit it has been on the synchronize load up box for the last hour. This is so frustrating.
