At first, when i purchased the Logos4 upgrade, it worked okay, except for trying to do the 9.5 GB download in a foreign country. That used my 5GB monthly limit and had to be done in stages, sometimes repeated, over months. For some time the program worked okay, although I find Libronix 3 to be much more useful and helpful. The only thing I like about Logos4 is the rapid searching. However, about a year ago, that began failing also. Every time I tried to update my index it failed.
As time passed, it began to seem that anything I do with Logos4 that requires an online connection causes additional failures. (Maybe there's a hacker targeting me.) I've tried every technique for reinstalling found in the forums and the Logos Wiki. But whatever requires connection to the internet for the installation and indexing always fails. So I've gone to earlier backups of Windows7 and reinstalled .net updates and service packs, etc. Still failure.
Now its been uncountable hours wasted over the past year and it keeps getting worse. When I try to reinstall through the internet, the installation fails to setup properly and doesn't finish. So I don't even have that. I'm communicating with customer service, which requires a day or more between each e-mail. But in the meantime, I thought I might check the forum and see if anyone is having similar problems.
I've come to the point that I'm ready to ditch Logos4. As a steward of my time, it would be irresponsible to waste any more just reinstalling. What I really need is an installation DVD and a setup procedure that is entirely offline from start to finish, but it looks like they've fazed that out now.
Nevertheless, if there are any suggestions of any method I haven't already tried many times, before I trash all that I've invested in this since the time Logos Research Systems began, I'll still give it another try.
