iphone and the NSAB

Robert - I can kind of verify that changing the short name DOES have bearing in searches. I changed my NASB short name to BAMA (why not, right? Smile). My iPad would no longer find the NASB with a search for NASB but my iPhone would. I made sure to kill both apps and let each device sync several times. A search for BAMA did indeed find the NASB on both devices. I repeated the process working backwards and changed the NASB short name back to NASB (I think it was NASB95 before), killed the apps and allowed them to sync. All returned to normal, including BAMA disappearing as a search word for the NASB.

I am really interested to know what the short name of the NASB is for both Sam & Graham.

Okay, I just deleted my app on my iPhone and then re-downloaded it.  Since I am able to use the tags,  Once I did this, I was able to pull up the NASB Bible without issues.  I also had noticed that on my iPad showed 40 resources when I tagged them.  When I looked on my iPhone before I deleted it, it only showed 20 of my 40 resources that the iPad showed and were tagged with the keyword of 'iPhone'.  I was able to see all 40 resources after downloading it.  I wonder if the iPhone syncing process has some bugs in the handshake it needs to make?

    Hi Alabama

To the best of my knowledge I have never changed this.

It would be helpful for you to look at THIS THREAD and see if its the same problem. If so, add a post for the devs to see.

In which case your issue appears to be different than the one Robert discovered. Thanks. [:)]

Just to complicate things - if I use the search string "nas" then my NASB is shown on the iPad

Not complicated at all.  I had the exact same issue before I did my delete the Logos iPhone app.  I was able to see the NASB bible with a New American or NAS search only. after I had updated it in L4.  If I typed in NASB, it would go away in the exactly the same manner as you.  Once I deleted my Logos app and resynced all of my resources, all was working just fine with no issues.

In my humble opinion, there is a striking similarity to the bug, the bug uses some of the same procedures/code, or it is in fact the same bug.  If you were willing to try it, I might suggest you deleting the iPhone app, downloading it again, and then re-syncing your resources.  If you tagged the ones you wanted downloaded on your iPhone in L4, then you could filter by them and use the download all button to save some time and effort.  I ran into this bug by trying to see if this would work (it does, which is very nice and thanks to some of the fine folks here for helping).

Hi Robert, thanks for the response.

I agree that the problems we are describing are likely to be very closely related.

I'm not going to delete my app to try and resolve this - its not enough of an issue for me to go through the process of downloading resources again, although you are right that tagging the resources in L4 would make downloading them again a much quicker process.

I can appreciate lack of need to do it now.  At some point, I think it is worth doing just in case you ever need to sync the resources again.  With iOS6 coming out and the possibility of a new iPhone, I think it is a good exercise for quick restoration purposes.  This and the download all button make this a much simpler exercise.  I also rate my resources, so I sort them as such.  This allows me to pick from my most uses resources that I downloaded very quickly.
