When were the angels created?

Renald Showers book on Angels is helpful: He indicates that they were created on the first day of creation.
John, I appreciate the post. I found it helpful.
Btw, just ignore George. He's been stuck on "crotchety" since '71. [^o)]

I never did crochet. I tried knitting once but I wasn't very good at it. My wife was the one who knit and crocheted.

I would also look at Colossians 1:16 which seems to alude to Genesis 1:1 with the term heaven and earth. This verse includes visible and invisible things (angels) in the inclusive phrase heaven and earth. Do a search on the words create and heaven and earth. I found only 10 verses and they all seem to point back to Genesis 1:1. God created the universe through the Lord Jesus Christ.
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. NKJV Colossians 1:16Also compare the all of Colossians 1:16 with the all of Exodus 20:11.

while disinterested commenters wring their collective hands over the sad witness of Christians bickering in public. Better not to go there (again).
'Disinterested commentators' are not disinterested otherwise we would not be reading the posts. It is just very hard to read and be 'interested' with all of the bickering and name calling.
Your brother, Gregory

I agree completely. First George was bad-mouthing the home of JR (and the Mavericks). Then he was accused of sewing since 1971. What an accusation!
Probably the whole thread needs to be deleted.

Quite right. This thread was an invitation to a theological debabe from the get go. The original poster was being disingenuous by maintaining otherwise.
I would say it is downright dishonest. "Disingenuous" is too weak an adjective for such a blatant attempt.
And "young-earth-ers" have no problem accepting YHWH actually telling the truth in his word. Is it a difficult thing for a true God to create a planet with a geological record that appears more aged than it is? How about creating a man who's body is matured rather than infantile?

I suppose that, like Athena who sprang full-grown from the brow of Zeus, man was created full-grown from the brow of Zeus Yahweh. How old was he then? Was he a mature adult or was he a man-child? [:P]

I ignored this from the start feeling it was about as useful as the old "How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?" For me the Bible is the most wonderful of books as one person one called it a river safe enough for a child to wade in, but deep enough for the elephant to swim in. I do not believe in the Bible having every answer to every question even regarding faith. There are those (and i respect them, despite having differences of opinion) who take Bible as the answer to everything, reading it as a textbook. The Bible for me tells the stories (be they literally true or not), that reveals the nature character the working and will of God. THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BE AN OPENING FOR DISCUSSION, only to express the belief we are unable to know everything, even more literal interpreter's will admit this, Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end. For we know only in part, and we prophesy only in part; but when the complete comes, the partial will come to an end. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known. And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love. Pursue love!

Thank you, Dan! Indeed! Peace and Joy to you! to all!

Quite right. This thread was an invitation to a theological debabe from the get go. The original poster was being disingenuous by maintaining otherwise. This type of discussion follows a predictable pattern on this forum: The discussion gets bogged down in minute disagreements of interpretation, the posts become more vehement and heated, eventually sputtering into petty ad hominum abuse, while disinterested commenters wring their collective hands over the sad witness of Christians bickering in public. Better not to go there (again).
Ho-hum...and might I say, "BALONEY."
At the time you posted your accusation, I do not detect upon review of this thread that there was any debate per se. The first accusation thrown out was yours. All I asked for was input, and eventually I got exactly what I was looking and hoping for. As far as I'm concerned, this post can expire. But the thought police are often the ones on the forum who initiate the first salvos that lead to bickering and worse.
I repeat...there was nothing disingenuous in my questions. I wanted input and got it. The input I received came from Logos resources, just as I requested. The end.
You and others who accuse need to step lightly.

...and Super Tramp, I really expect better from you.
I don't see the need to repeat what I just said above, but what I said I wanted is what I got and I am satisfied. I got input I consider valuable and even perspective changing.
With regard to the OP and topic I opened for discussion....Who did I argue with? Who did I disparage? Who did I challenge?
Now, as to your response...do you see the irony in what you assert???
1) YHWH tells the truth in his word...
2) God deliberately created a record that appears to be something it is not.
Who are you accusing of dishonesty? Me...or God?

Just for the record, the most offending posts to this thread came from those who condemned others for the content of the thread...offenses that came while others were merrily making comments, posting Logos data, and finding the answers sought in the original post.
Irony, anyone?

How many examples do we need of discussions like this to get it? They inevitably lead to debate. And even if they didn't, they violate what Logos asks the forums be used for. Amazing.

I'm accusing God of being smarter than you. [;)]
After all, God never told us he was for full disclosure. Some things the prophets saw were sealed from our knowledge.......
