WARNING: Rant
The bright star of Logos and other Bible programmes was that we could get Galaxie Theological Journals. Galaxie trail blazed the way bringing this incredible resource to our desktops. I remember some of the Logos Marketing spin quoting Mark Driscoll stating the virtues of journals over commentaries. It was and still is one of the most potent resources for my research.
Now a few years later after quoting Mark, it appears that journals are the poor cousin that gets little attention. Previously we got the lastest journals update about Christmas time. We are already half way through 2012 and we still haven't received last year's volumes. Themelios, which I was delighted that Logos picked up, hasn't done an update since last April. BAR hasn't been updated in years now.
Am I the only one left that cares about this resource? In the absence of information from Logos, I have to wonder. The Galaxie journals update went into 'production' with a delivery date then went back into contract and the explanation was that there was problems with the text or something. OK that was a couple of months ago, but there's not even a delivery date yet. We are getting to the point that the next volume could easily be included.
I mean really... how hard can tagging journals be? They aren't that complicated. Is the quest for delivering every other type of resource under the sun along with all the other initiatves killing off this incredible resource? I would really like to see this return to a reasonable production cycle. Are there others that feel the same, or has journals become the poor cousin that few seem to care about any more?
Sorry for the rant. I am sure that I will get told off for misunderstanding what is going on, but there has been precious little communicated on this that I can find.
