    Uhh! ...tedious. [8-)]

Actually, George, I'm glad you posted your screenshot, because it shows rather clearly how paltry the L4 pop-up is compared to the L3 one.

L3 shows the pointed Hebrew word and gives usage meanings.

The L4 pop-up gives the unpointed lemma and grammatical info.

The vast majority of people would prefer the L3 pop-up. That said, one of the things I sometimes use L4 for is to determine quickly which verbal stem is in use in a given text. While a Strong's reference does give the breakdown of meanings for the different stems used in Tanakh, as shown below...

    image

...i.e. (Qal), (Niphal), (Pual), (Hiphil), & (Piel), the L3 pop-up doesn't tell you which particular verbal stem is used in the particular instance in question. The pop-up you show from L4 does give that information. If I am using L3 & L4 in tandem, studying the same passage, it is easier to just click over to L4 and hover over the word to see the verbal stem. But if I am not already on the correct passage in L4, it is easier for me in L3 to left-arrow key a few times to the LHI, which tells me the stem.

When L5 arrives, it would be extremely nice if BOTH sets of information shown in the different pop-ups above could be displayed. Even so, since I can pull up the verbal stem info rather easily, the more important of the two is having the Strong's reference instantly available by hover. Again, it would be fine if the lexical resource shown in the pop-up was a choosable preference--that way George can get some sleep at night.

    Strong's reference instantly available

I for one hate Strong's and prefer popups to generally be small and unobtrusive as there are often merely a result of my moving the mouse while thinking ... or when my cat's tail moves the mouse while I'm reading.[8-|]

You could get rid of the cat.  [6]  [;)]

Now George, that's not very nice! I happen to really LIKE cats.

    They taste like chicken. [:D]

Now, now.  I'm a dog man and don't care for cats, but I would never harm one or recommend seriously that someone else do so.  At the moment I'm caring for my daughter's Attention Hound (he loves attention).  He's been here long enough now that he has started barking when someone passes (at first he didn't bark then)—I suppose he considers my place his home which he must protect.
