L5 Silver to Gold Commentaries...Worth it?

I've upgraded to Silver L5, but wonder if Gold would be a better deal for me.
Certainly there is a lot of Dollar value here, but I'm wondering about the 'value' of these commentaries.
I'm wondering if anyone uses these and how valuable are they to you?
they do represent a substantial saving I know...but...choices...

Or should I use the money to start saving for the New International Commentary Series or other?

These are all solid additions to your Library. I don't know what your upgrade cost difference would be, but I'd consider it for these.

If you do decide you want Gold rather than Silver, you should see if you can get a refund on Silver, so that you get the better L4 to L5 upgrade discount. That will save you a bit more.

I would second what has been said by others. The difference in price for me from gold to silver was less than $100 from what I recall. This was a small price to pay for the upgrade. Your price may vary depending on what resources you own.

One of the best values in Logos is upgrades. But it's only of value if you will use these resources. If you decided to upgrade in the future, it would likely cost more.

I would recommend several of the commentaries on your list without reservations. The exegetical summaries, I find very helpful when I really want to know what the text says. I don't know Greek (it's Greek to me) and the Exegetical Summaries Series are very "lay" friendly in my opinion. They even have a question and answer section after breaking most verses into clauses.

I do own the NICOT and NICNT and they are my favorite commentaries. In my opinion you have more value by staying silver. You have 30 days to look over your silver resources and prayerfully make a decision.

I wouldn't value the commentaries in Gold too high. Personally, I prefer such commentaries as Hermeneia, ICC, Believer's Church Bible Commentary (which I've written about today in the Logos 5 forum in a post I updated just a few minutes ago: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/60016/427181.aspx#427181) and this volume: Sheffield New Testament Guides: 2 Peter and Jude. I have another book as printed matter, by the author of the latter, in Suggestions: Christian Origins by Jonathan Knight, Continuum 2008.

Look at what the actual cost to upgrade is and see how that compares to the value of the commentaries you value.

I agree with the evaluations that others have made about these.

Base pkgs normally give you the most bang for the buck, but the prices available on the CUSTOMIZE button are terrific for items that are normally not in pkgs.
