Joseph, you might want to search on www.logos.com under "reformation" or other search terms. One collection that is on Pre-pub is this Luther Studies Collection. If you don't know about the "Pre-Pub Program", it is a great way to get books at an awesome price (with some exceptions). Logos usually offers books and collections at a steep discount before the books are published. You can place a "pre-pub order" that "locks you in" at that price. Your card is not charged until the books are ready to ship, however. And Logos notifies you before that happens, so you can make sure everything is in order and you are ready to purchase. If by chance something has changed, you can delete that order before you are charged.
I have gained many great additions to my library that way. Blessings to you! And welcome to the family of God!

I'm currently an accordance user, and Logos 4 for Mac is calling my name. I'm going to purchase a starter package, but I wanted to know can I use user bibles? I also have a lot of highlights in Accordance - can I have multiple highlighting syles and then search for those styles? Can I import user tools?
Thanks in advance for your help...

No such thing as a user bible in Logos, nor any equivalent feature planned.
The closest thing that is not planned until 2011 is a PBB (Personal "Book") replacement (similar to user tools you can't really edit, but only import).
Highlighting search: http://wiki.logos.com/Finding_Highlighted_Text

Mike answered the other two. But I'm not sure what you mean by user tools.Chris Echols said:Can I import user tools?
You can create your own highlighting styles and such if that's what you mean.
Is there something else?
Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

you can't search for unique highlights, but you can flip through them, and you can create your own styles, as well as use the several palettes (including precepts) premade for you.

Short answer, No you cannot import user tools into L4. Logos Personal Book Builder (PBB) had similar abilities in L3, but has not yet appeared in L4. PBB is scheduled to appear sometime in 2011. According to advance press, PBB in L4 will be dramatically improved.
In any case, User Bibles and User Tools created in Accordance will probably never be capable of being imported into Logos (different format, different philosophy of programming).

My first wish list for Logos is a fully functioning mac version of v4 but I already know it's on it's way. Beyond that I'd say better documentation/ training on not just what the program does but why you'd use it that way.Hi Dave,
this is my wish too!!!

It is too early days with Logos 4 for me to have a wish list, but the extension of the training video's to cover more features would not be a bad thing, though I surmise that you are working on that.
Here we go again!

Have you guys checked out the User-created videos? These are mostly (all?) done on the PC, but several of them, including the ones by Mark Barnes, get a bit more into the "why", in the sense of seeing the flow of how you put things together for, let's say, a sermon preparation. They have a more organic feel to them, rather than just "here's how you created a collection."

Welcome to the forums! Come on in, make yourself comfortable, and get to know some other Logos Bible Software users!
With nearly 10,000 users this forum is a great place to get many of your questions answered, meet a lot of wonderful people, and learn many new tricks and tips from seasoned Logos users.
- For starters tell us how long you have been a Logos user?
- What kinds of resources or packages you own?
- What kinds of tasks do you use your Logos software for?
- And what is on your Logos wish list?
Ok, I'm game.
I started using Logos Scholar's 3 in July 06. I used it for my duties as an associate pastor in 2007 and 2008. During this time I bought a few more resources.
American History Collection (8 Vols.)
Ministry Letters
Disciplines of a Godly Man
Appointed to Leadership
The Minister's Handbook
The Complete Guide to Bible Versions
Point Man: How a Man Can Lead His Family
A Christmas Carol
Robinson Crusoe
Sermon File Addin
Matthew, Mark Cornerstone Biblical Commentary
The Complete Works of Francis A. Schaeffer
The New Unger's Bible Handbook
Celebrating Christian Marriage
The Christian Doctrine of Justification and Reconciliation
Finally AliveThis brought me to the start of college at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. My degree is a Bachelor of Arts in Expository Preaching and Pastoral Leadership with a minor in Apologetics. So, shortly after starting class and then qualifying for the academic discount I was quick to upgrade to Scholar's Gold 3. With the upgrade I bought a new resource.
The Preacher's Commentary CD-ROM
Then version 4 came out and I instantly upgraded and got those new resources with the upgrade. I also bought a few more resources for my library.
MacArthur Bible Studies: Romans
Life in a Risen Saviour
Moody Pastoral Theology Collection (5 Vols.)
Charles Spurgeon Collection (86 Vols.)
Calvin 500 Collection (108 Vols.)
Abstract of Systematic Theology by James P. Boyce
Christian Theology, 2nd ed., by Millard Erickson
Jesus' Resurrection: Fact or Figment?
Moody Apologetics Collection (5 Vols.)
Learn to Use Biblical Greek and Hebrew with Logos Bible Software
The Canon of ScriptureThen I upgraded to Platinum 4 and got those new resources that it entails. I was after BDAG which was $150. So the upgrade price offered to me was easy to decide. Anyhow with the upgrade I bought two more resources.
Baker Theology Collection (11 Vols.)
Baker Encountering the Bible Collection (3 Vols.)And then two prepubs where I am currently at with my library of 1522 resources.
The Beloved Disciple: Following John to the Heart of Jesus
Faithful to the End: An Introduction to Hebrews through RevelationMy prepubs total about $4500 and it grows every day depending on some new stuff that I may want. I usually focus on resources that I may need in my future like Old Testament Hermeneutics Collection (18 Vols.) Most of my prepubs are items like, theology, history, apologetics and things that apply to my degree I may need. Of course some things I may not need but it will work itself out.
I use my Logos for academic work. I will use it after my academics for ministry work. I also use it for some classes homeschooling my children, but there again that is academic work. I also scan the forums and sometimes make comments that may or may not help people. I learn more just from reading about issues other folks have. That's me, thanks for your time.

My name is Tom Castle... I'm coming over from Accordance. I had a rough start with the software attempting to use it on my 4 year old MacBook Pro. However, since installing it on my 8 month windows laptop, I'm happy as I can possibly be. Still learning my way around and getting things setup just like I prefer.
1. I have been using Logos since 10/4/2010 -- so about 8 days [:)]
2. I purchased the Scholars Library: Platinum to start with...
I have since added:
- The New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge
- An Exposition on Prayer in the Bible (5 Vols)
- The Essential IVP Reference Collection Version 3
- Anchor Yale Bible Dictionary
- The Amplified Bible
- Tyndale Commentaries CD-Rom
- NIDOTTE
- NIDNTT
- NICOT/NICNT
3. I am addicted to the software! I'm using it for sermon preparation, lesson preparation, personal devotion and bible study.
4. I'm currently hoping that Barnes notes on the OT/NT get enough support to get out of community pricing.
In HIS Eternal Service,
Tom Castle

I own the Gold edition with BDAG added to it....
As a pastor-teacher/ missionary I use Logo's for sermon/Bible study preparation and personal study...
My wish list is to eventually add G. C. Morgan and Ironside commentary sets, and Expositor's Greek New Testament when it's released etc. etc. etc!!!

I've been enjoying Logos for over 2 years. It never ceases to amaze me. It has revitalized God letter to me in ways I never dreamed possible. My old paper NIV version is very scared but what frustrated me was my inability to highlight, underline make notes today and not be able to fine it tomorrow. Not anymore! WOW.
I’m 63 and read my Bible from cover to cover in 1962, and am ashamed to say never since. Now with Logos I’m in Revelation in my annual cover to cover trek for the second time and I can’t wait to start over. WOW what a trip. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I have enjoyed helping over 20 packages to others. WOW

Hi!
I'm CaReese, and I recently graduated with my Master's in Biblical Literature. This is my first day with the Logos software, so I am still trying to learn my way around. [:)] Logos is my only bible software, and I am really excited about it. I started with the Scholar's Package, and I haven't had time to develop a wish list yet. I see myself using Logos to further my studies and prepare for teaching. I am looking forward to learning and having fun with you all!

Hello to all Logos forum users. I'm a newbie to the forums but have been using Logos 4 since February 2010. I'm still on a serious learning cave. I'm not a Pastor, just a lay person amd serious Bible studier. I want to learn more about the original languages. I own the Logos Scholar Silver KF collection. and added:
- The John McArthur Lifeworks
- The John McArthur Bundle (98 Vols)
- Charles Stanley Lifeworks
- David Jeremiah Lifeworks
- A.W. Tozer Collection
- Life Application Commentary Bundle
- The Expositioners Commentary
- The Preachers Commentary
- Barmes Notes on the Bible
- Norman Geisler Apologetics Library
- The Goodly Heritage Collection
- 8 Study Bibles
- and many more books.
- Total library count stands at 1,346 books.
The forum is a great place to read and learn. Thanks to everyone for all the great posts. I hope to interact more when I quit feeling so intimidated, lol.
God Bless,
Cliff

Jayson,
I've been a user since 2007 but only recently got really involved in the forums when I realized how much I really didn't understand about Logos.
I started out with some small Libronix/Ebible packages until 2007 when I bought Library Builder vols. 4-6 and then the Original Languages Package in L3 at the beginning of 2010. I then upgraded to the Scholar's package in late 2010.
I use Logos as an integral part of my research regarding apologetics, ancient and church history, and Bible teaching. I don't have the money to attend seminary continuously at this point but I believe I'm being challenged by God to broaden my horizons and be able to "contend for the faith" effectively anyway. I've arrived at the conclusion that many people can't defend their faith because they don't know where to look for answers. My job is to help in that regard where possible.
My wish list? For starters an upgrade to Scholar's Silver, R.C. Sproul collection, and the Norm Geisler apologetics collection.

Hi can you help. Why is my Logos software constantly updating, one update after another, of substantial size too? is this normal. Not complaining but worried I might eventually run out of space at this rate!
