When I copy from the latest Logos into the latest Word, I get a footnote.
Does program setting Copy Footnotes as Text have any effect ?
Russ White said:1. What about when I'm working in a software package that doesn't have footnotes, or embedded urls, at all?
Windows 10 Wordpad handles embedded URL (from RTF on clipboard) without superscript numbers nor footnote:
WordPad File has "Send in email" option to send document as email attachment.

So your argument is that I should completely change the way I do email and research in order to fit it around what Logos has implemented. No, that's not a solution.

Another possibility is automatic clipboard modification. Hyperlinked resource does not have URL when pasted as text. Perhaps clipboard could be manipulated to copies "hidden" URL and pastes as text on clipboard so work flow becomes copy in Logos (with automatic clipboard change), switch to desired program, paste. Clipboard Fusion includes Text Match & Replace => https://www.clipboardfusion.com/Compare/ (caveat: have not used Clipboard Fusion; noticed Free & Pro versions)
Observation: over many years have changed a number of times the software used to implement a variety of tasks.

I have a simpler solution -- how about Logos just implements what I asked for in the first place?
