m.ED Library Requirements

Greetings!

Just wondering - it has been written that Mobile Ed will require the Platinum library. What will the frustration level be if we are sitting at Bronze, or Silver, or Gold? Is it just not at all wise to try the courseware without a full Platinum library? Missionaries (at least this one) don't get a lot of funding to throw at something like this...

It'd be interesting if Logos offered a slight discount off the Platinum upgrade for those that purchase Mobile Ed and don't have Platinum yet, or offer a dynamic pricing Mobile Ed+Platinum Upgrade bundle after Mobile Ed ships.

I take this to mean that trying to study within the Mobile Education environment with anything less than Platinum would be quite a challenge and probably quite frustrating.

But I have no inside information on this!

Seems to me that the resources used for the class should be included with the cost, that's a hefty price tag to then also have to upgrade your library.

The term "required" is not so much an inducement to spend a certain amount of money as much as a prescription for customer satisfaction. Nobody wants their links to fail. Nobody wants to be surprised when a link fails in a program for which they just invested serious time and money. There is also the issue of degree granting institutions who may adopt Mobile Ed as part of their distance education program. It is more than likely these "for credit" programs will require additional assignments which will make even more extensive use of the Platinum library.

The program will run with any library. Most of the links will work in collections smaller than Platinum. . .but not all.

Perhaps a course requirements page should be put up for each unit. I am interested in knowing the resources required for Moo's Romans class.

Not having Platinum won't stop you learning from m.Ed. , but it will mean you won't be able to do all of the recommended readings. I have Portfolio and found two resources included recommended readings that I did not own. They weren't expensive so I opted to buy them, but could have gotten away without having them if I choose. So having Platinum won't mean there won't be resources you still might have to consider purchasing, but it will be very few resources. I can't say below platinum how many you would need to purchase.
