Acer Iconia W3-810 Tablet on Sale. Can this run Logos?

Has anybody tried one of these for full Logos 5?
Office Depot has both models for $100 off right now.
$280 for the 32 GB model, $329 for the 64 GB model.
Reviews say the screen display is mediocre, but they run full Windows 8.
Anybody have one?

Q: What are the System Requirements for Logos 5?
Intel or AMD is stated as a requirement…. but I think I have heard of people running it on an Atom but it may be slow. Hope you can find someone to give you some first hand experience using something similar.

I am currently running Logos 5 on an Atom with HD (not SSD) [ HP mini 5103 Netbook].
Slow to launch but acceptable for reading (in a full window).
But there is a reason that Atom tablets are on sale: they are being replaced by more modern, more capable processors which will quickly make Atom powered tablets feel outdated and unnecessarily slow. If you want to run full Windows 8 then hold out for a newer tablet with a 256GB SSD.
64GB may sound like a lot but it leaves VERY LITTLE user space after the operating system and recovery partition. 128GB is not going to allow you to do everything you would want to do on a full Windows 8 system. Early Notebooks had only 120GB or 160GB HDs and this does not leave much space for indexing and defragmentation of a good sized Logos library let alone any other Windows applications. Wait a few months for 256GB to become the new standard for Windows 8 tablets

Well said David.
John, ATOM is not the way to go and I know its frustrating but there simply isn't a Windows 8 machine out there (convertible or otherwise) in my opinion that will run Logos 5 adequately without costing a lot of money, heating up if left on too long, windows scaling issues if you want to hook it up to a larger monitor, want to underline stuff easily using a stylus, want decent readability, and care about having a constant connection through wifi or need the battery to last more than 4 hours for serious study.
Many will tell you The Surface Pro or ATIV line are adequate...they are partially right (I enjoy reading what they write or have written in here and they have been very gracious to me) but I recommend waiting for something better. What it might be is anyone's guess right now.
Logos isn't really even really touch friendly right now. We've a long way to go and I think many more months before something useful will be produced for us. Avoid RT machines and keep scouring these pages here in the forums....something may pop up yet we all agree works well and is affordable (I continue to have Hope).

Suggest reading thread => Anyone using an Intel Atom Z2760 powered tablet with Windows 8 and Logos 5?
Personally watching for Intel 4th Generation i5 and i7 devices.
Noted 128 GB SSD has a formatted capacity of 108.71 GB for C: drive with 10.49 GB for recovery. Windows 7 uses ~ 18 GB. My Logos5 folder uses 41.9 GB of space with 11,343 resource files. The 64 GB SSD should be usable if Logos5 folder uses less than ~ 21 GB; when indexing library, need enough free space for two copies of index files along with temporary files.
Keep Smiling [:)]
