Hi Bradley,
I follow all the procedures and Logos 4 private best still can not be opened. I decide to remove the software and drop this test.

At least provide the details of your system as per the guidelines.

Hi Dan, why not stick it out for a few days and give others the opportunity to support you? I will wait for the dvd and then start (and I may feel as you do at times) but meanwhile, I am reading every post in every thread and learning a lot. This is a great environment to learn in.DanielLiu said:I decide to remove the software and drop this test.

Hi Joe,
Thanks for your encouragement. I try reinstallation and double click the program. It happened again. The program won't open and tell me there are problems and shut down automatically. Would you please let me know what I have to do for this situation?

Thanks for sticking in there brother :-)
First, can you post the technical specifications for your computer? Operating System? Memory? etc... This will help Logos know if there is a bug in the download and if it can be fixed.
After that, i am sure they will give some hints on how to get up and running.

Hi Daniel, what language version of Windows you use? English, or some other? I have also problem with Indexer not running and that crushing also Logos 4. I use Czech Vista Business SP2. I hope Logos will look at the problem.

Dan I might have a solution for you, please attach those logs before doing this. Can you switch your langauge to English? Another user had this problem and switching to English allowed his indexer to begin and he was able to login and use the program.

Hi Dan, we received your log files. In the mean time, I was told you can get into the program using English in your OS, and then you can switch back to your Chinese when you are in the program. Let me know how things go.

Yes, Dan, I think you can use the same method I used. I was really frustrated, trying to install Logos on 4 machines with the same result. The only common thing was Localized Date and Time etc. In the (how you call it in English) Setup Panels in your OS. It will not change your Vista or XP to English language, it will just change the way your date, time and currency displays. Set it to US English and you should be OK. It worked to me in both Vista and XP OS.
However (and that is also info for Logos guys) when I turned it back to localized Czech version of Date and time, it crashed Indexer again. Switching back to US English allowed again to open the Logos and start Indexer if needed.
It does also one more thing: When I switched back to Czech (before it crushed Logos), it showed Bible references in German (yes, German). There was no way to write a reference in English. It did not work. I think I found the source of the problem. Hope you will fix it in the next Beta. Till than we have to live with the English Date and Time display. (It has nothing to do with the Time Zone. You can set it up to wherever you are.) I am glad we can have that work-around.
Blessing

Hi George. Just in case you would not notice my post to Dan. I explain my further info on the need to switch localized Time and Date in the OS to US English. I hope it might help other guys also. Thanks.

Hi Bohuslaw,
Thanks for your suggestion. It does not work on my Chiense version Operating System. I do not have any problems to run all other English programs. They all operate perfectly well. It may have some bugs or other insufficent setting in this beta version. They may have to look into and fix it.

Hi George,
My Operating System is a Chinese version not multi-language version. It cannot switch to other language. But it works for English program perfectly well. This is a wonderful operating system. You may look into the log file and fix the bugs.

Hi Dan. I also use Czech Vista, not multilingual. What solved my problem (and what I suggest to you) is not switching the language of your OS, just when you go the the Control Panels you find Local Setup and you change the date, currency and time display to US English. It is not fix of course. It is work-around before Logos guys fix the bug. Are you able to have multiple language keyboards? Like English, Chinese, German? If yes, you should have also the way to setup the date and time display.
Anyways, if you wnat to wait after Logos guys repare the bug, it is fine. For me, I was to currious to see the new program so I can live with the little inconvinience for now that it shows the date and time in my emails for example in English, with their a.m. and p.m.'s. Not a big problem really. They promised to fix it in the Beta 2.

Hi Bohuslav,
Thanks for your information. I did what your suggestions. My OS is in Chinese version, but the date and other information setting are in English. This OS combines Chinese and English language. It makes no difference for me to switch to either one.

Sorry about that. It definitely solved the problem in my Czech Vistas and XP. I tried it on both.

Sorry about this Dan, thanks for the information. We are working on a solution for this. Beta 2 will be coming out shortly and we would like you to try again with that. Thanks for your patience.

Yes, you may include them in posting here by clicking the 'Options" button and then clicking Add/Update button. You may zip up your Logos4.log and Logos4Indexer.log and attach that zip file.

Search Word (repent) from my 30 English bible resources. Only 3 versions were appeared. But it is no finding (0 hits in 0 verses).

Well Daniel, I tried it with my top for - Word Search repent - and came up with 302 hits in 93 verses in 4.92 seconds. So it did work. I then tried it across all of my bibles and L4B3 blew up [:D].

I used "word by word" tool. It only appeared three dictionary books. I have more than 15 books. What happened to other books! How do I change different version of bible such as from English to Chinese bible when I read commentary or other verses without interrupting the existing bible version?

Dunno if I'm blessed or what, but:
Top Bibles: 69 results in 65 verses (0.07 sec) -- for some reason this is only the ESV, I must have only one "Top Bible".
All Bibles: 2,320 results in 2159 verses (0.36 sec)
Word search entire library: 73,170 results in 37,781 articles (1.36 sec)
All was functional with no problems. Using beta 3. Even doing stuff in Graph Bible Search Results was snappy (except for "Show Zero Items", which bogged me down). Dunno if it matters, but I did the search by typing "search repent" in the command box. It did the library search first, then I clicked the dialog to do the Bible searches.
This is on my home computer, an HP box (Vista Home Premium 64 bit, 4 gigs of RAM and an "AMD Phenom(tm) 3400 Triple-Core Processor 2.10 GHz", whatever that is) which I bought at Costco over a year ago for under $1K.
