E. J. Young commentary 'The Prophecy of Daniel'

As far as I can see this hasn't been specifically suggested before (though it gets a mention in this list of Geneva commentaries), and isn't in the classic commentaries on Daniel bundle.
It's one of the few older commentaries that Tremper Longman reviews in his latest OT commentary survey:
"The importance of this commentary is found in its firm and intelligent conservative stance. Young polemicizes against critical and dispensationalist approaches. He is not particularly sensitive to the literary nature or biblical theology of the book, but he is an excellent language scholar."
Published in 1949 by Banner of Truth (which may be the problem?)

An excellent resource which should be added if possible. Always the first commentary on Daniel that I go to.

And speaking about classic commentaries and studies on Daniel, another book that is getting extensive citation is "In and Around the Book of Daniel" by Charles Boutflower. Whoa...this old book is packed with gems!

Actually, it seems that this book was first published in 1949 by Eerdmans and then in 1972 by Banner.
Perhaps with Logos and Eerdmans getting on so well at present you could look into whether we could get this, Christian?

Yes. Great suggestion. Young's commentary on Daniel is one of the best I've read. I love his exegesis of Daniel 9. I have placed this on the list of books to get. Hopefully we will see it sooner rather than later. Keep the good ideas coming!
