Jonathan, I also am glad you replied. I, too, was concerned about you.
I enjoyed today's meditation from Spurgeon's Daily Help (A Logos resource):
SEPTEMBER 15
LOOK at thy possessions, O believer, and compare thy portion with the lot of thy fellow-men. Some of them have their portion in the field; they are rich and their harvests yield them a golden increase; but what are harvests compared with thy God, who is the God of harvests? What are bursting granaries compared with him, who is the Husbandman, and feeds thee with the bread of heaven? Some have their portion in the city; their wealth is abundant, and flows to them in constant streams, until they become a very reservoir of gold; but what is gold compared with thy God? “Thou art my portion, O Lord.”—Psalm 119.

Is anyone in contact with Jonathan or have a contact with Logos where they can use their records to find a means to check up on Jonathan?
I'll be fine, just needed to get out of this discussion.
I had an unsuccessful change of medication this week, which has made me a bit more vulnerable than usual. I'm better today than yesterday.
Thank you for your concern.
Hang in there Jonathan! I write this from a hospital room as my daughter tried to end her life 2 days ago. Do NOT allow judgmental people EVER make you feel unworthy of participating in this forum.
(praise God, my daughter will be OK medically. Now she needs to find spiritual and emotional healing)

I shall pray for your daughter Mr. Thomas; I cannot imagine what that must be like; I had a sister who was in and out of hospitals and therapy for depression and numerous suicide attempts. It ended very well if you'd like to hear the story, if it would help. Anyway, I imagine that as a parent it would be even more difficult.
Be well sir.
Cheers,

David, I will pray for your daughter and your family. May God's grace sustain and heal all of you.

Praying for your daughter and her whole family/spiritual/emotional support network. May the Lord come through in a big way to give her hope and a reason for living to give Him glory.
Also praying for you, Jonathan.
I've had friends who have attempted suicide, and it is very difficult knowing how to come alongside and support them. Sometimes all we can do is pray. And just be there.

David,
We spent weeks at the bedside of our grandson about 10 months go. Praise God He can heal more than the body.
Soli Deo Gloria,

I too am praying for those who are in need today. May God give the grace needed for each moment.

What saddens me is how once someone mentions a young person they know who suffers with suicidal tendencies, nearly everyone in the vicinity, it turns out, knows someone, remotely or intimately, who has similarly struggled. And the fact that they are often so very young is heartbreaking. Not to mention bewildering.

Another reason why we need to speak the truth IN LOVE in forums like this--because I never know what is going on in the life of the other people reading/commenting in the thread.
Thanks for all the kind words! I don't want this thread to become about me. I only mentioned my situation to let the OP know that there are sympathetic people who value his contributions to this forum.

I've locked this thread because it deviates from the forum guidelines specifically the first and third points which respectively state:
- "Please keep your discussions focused on Logos Bible Software: our software, products, websites, company, tools, etc.
- "Please treat each other with the love, courtesy, respect and kindness that you would if you were sitting in your living room together."
Disagreement is fine. Ad hominem is not.
