It was tempting to turn the list into a calendar devotional or lectionary or reading plan ... but none do quite what is needed.

The number 53 has its origin in the practice of the rotating presiding brother at Birmingham Ecclesia in the 1870s reading out one of the 53 each week to commence or conclude the ecclesial announcements.
